The project involves the delivery of 41km of new water mains connecting around 250 homes, farms and businesses in the village, where locals have long relied on wells or rainwater tanks.
The new scheme will also provide a supply to the townland of Kilcooley.

Local Fine Gael TD Ciaran Cannon says he expects construction to begin early next year and for the project to be completed by the summer.
Deputy Cannon says locals have worked exceptionally hard to get the long-awaited scheme over the line.
