Tender to be advertised for Aran Islands air service

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The tender for the Aran Islands air service will be advertised in the coming weeks.

It comes as the temporary contract with Galway Aviation Services, Aer Aran is due to expire at the end of September.

Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Gaeltacht and Islands, Seán Kyne says the tender will cover a 12 month period.

He says this will allow negotiations to progress on the purchase of the airstrip at Na Minna.

Minister Kyne says a business case is now being finalised to be submitted to the department of public expenditure.
