Galway Bay fm newsroom - The tender process is underway for the new Intreo centre in Tuam with the deadline for submissiosns at the end of the month.
The selection process is currently at the pre-qualification stage and interested tenders need to apply by September 30th.
The centre will be built on the site of the Old Library on Shop Street in the town and will bring togther all social welfare service in Tuam.
The project is being co-funded by the Office of Public Works and the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
The project was previously delayed because of a legal query but a revised planning permission application was approved by Galway County Council in March.
Minister of State and Galway East TD Sean Canney has welcomed the development saying it "adds another important element to the regeneration of Tuam town centre."
