Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway City Council has issued a tender seeking a contractor to design and manage the refurbishment of Blackrock Diving Tower in Salthill.
The works will also cover the wider bathing area surrounding the popular amenity.
The works will include structural repairs to the dive tower, as well as improved and safer access to both the tower and and sea bathing access points.
They'll also see the provision of a new transportable lifeguard station and general improvements to the facilities.
Engineering consultancy services are now being sought by the City Council to design and manage the refurbishment works.
They'll be required to deliver the project from the initial preliminary design and planning through to construction completion and handover.
The deadline for submissions of interest is February 1st.
