Galway Bay fm newsroom - Ongoing works at the new Martin Junction near Galway Clinic will see the site become a temporary "mini-roundabout" today.
It's as the project is nearing completion after significant setbacks and delays.
For some the works to transform the Martin Roundabout have been a never-ending story.
But the final chapter is finally upon us as the project enters the end stage.
From today, there'll be a temporary mini-roundabout put in the centre of the new junction to accommodate ongoing works.
Meanwhile, tomorrow Tuesday, new traffic lights will be commissioned at Doughiska junction, on the approach to Martin Junction.
The switchover will require a temporary stop/go system, with all four approaches reduced to a single lane between 7pm and midnight.
Night time works will also continue into next month to facilitate surfacing and roadmarking.
