Galway Bay fm newsroom:
The Taoiseach says there should be communication between the Department of Justice and the residents of Oughterard in relation to possible plans to accommodate asylum seekers at a former hotel outside the town.
The matter was raised in the Dail this week by former Tanaiste and Labour TD Joan Burton.
Leo Varadkar told the Dail there are good examples in Wicklow and Lisdoonvarna where communities were engaged with by the department.
It comes as several hundred people have been picketing at the former Connemara Gateway Hotel, since earlier this week.
