Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Taoiseach has called on Galway West Deputy Noel Grealish to clarify comments he made about migrants at a meeting in Oughterard.
Independent Deputy Grealish is alleged to have made certain comments about asylum seekers at a meeting in Oughterard on Wednesday.
The meeting was held to discuss concerns about the possible establishment of a direct provision centre at a former hotel in the village.
An online petition calling for him to retract and apologise for his statements has gathered over 1,500 signatures.
Deputy Grealish supports the government in most votes in the Dáil.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is now calling on him to make a statement about the meeting in Oughterard.
