Galway Bay fm newsroom - Supermac's boss Pat McDonagh has announced plans to build a swimming pool in Loughrea.
The long-sought facility will be located adjacent to the Loughrea Hotel and Spa, which was purchased by Mr. McDonagh in 2014.
He revealed the plans this morning at a special Fine Gael Breakfast briefing and fundraiser at the hotel, which was attended by Minister Leo Varadkar.
It's hoped the swimming pool will be completed within two years and will be a 25 metre one.

Loughrea councillor Michael Moegie Maher says it's fanastic news for the town and residents will be thrilled.
