A survey will be launched on Monday to help develop a joint retail strategy for Galway city and county.
Both local authorities are looking for shopper and household input from people in the city, along with those living in Oranmore, Claregalway and Barna.
The Joint Retail Strategy will provide a framework for guiding the development of the retail sector and promote investment across the city and county.
The surveys will take place for approximately two weeks, and additional consultation with stakeholders will take place in the coming months.
Senior Planner with the City Council Eoghan Lynch says the survey will look at how retail hubs throughout Galway work together.
