From Galway Bay FM newsroom- A new survey has revealed that workers in Galway are extremely put off applying for a new job by the lack of salary information.
The survey, carried out by FRS recruitment, also shows that confidence in the workforce is extremely high, with the vast majority confident they'd find a new job within 3 months.
The Employment Insights Survey reflects how the Galway workforce feels about the current state of the market and the opportunities available.
Confidence would appear to be extremely high - over 90 percent believe they would find a new job within 3 months, compared to just half of people this time last year.
Meanwhile, 37 percent said they fear for their job security, compared to 62 percent 12 months ago.
7 out of 10 said the lack of salary information on a job posting has put them off applying for a role.
The majority said they expect a pay rise in the next 12 months - while 60 percent said they feel their current salary reflects their position.
However, over half of Galway workers indicated they would consider a pay cut if their job was at risk - considerably higher than the national average.
When it comes to local employers, 1 in 3 said they're looking beyond Ireland for recruitment, while 1 in 6 said they've experienced a drop in the number of job applications received this year.
