Galway Bay fm newsroom - A woman was taken to hospital in the early hours of today (1910) after being rescued from the water in the city.
The alarm was raised around 5.45a.m when a woman in her 40s fell into the River Corrib at O' Brien's Bridge.
Galway fire brigade, gardaí and an ambulance attended the scene and she was successfully rescued from the water at Nimmo's Pier.
She was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Galway to be examined but it's understood she was not seriously injured.
