Eight Galway projects are set to benefit from the latest round of LEADER grants.
The LEADER programme, under the Department of Rural and Community Development, aims to support rural development projects to revitalise rural areas and create employment.
Gort Community Council will receive the biggest award at 65-thousand euro for the renovation of the community centre.
Ballinasloe Town Hall has been awarded 46-thousand euro for the installation of a new gas boiler as well as kitchen and toilet upgrades.
Other awardees include Halcon Doors Ltd, Ballinakill Community Development, Connemara Therapeutic Riding, Forbairt Pobail Maigh Cuilinn, FORUM Connemara and Comhar na hOileáin.
These projects will share 210-thousand euro in total between them.
