Substantial Government funding for Galway youth projects

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Over 60 thousand euro in funding has been announced for youth projects and services around Galway.

The funding is part of a national investment of 1.7 million euro by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs to support youth organisations throughout the country.

Eight youth organisations across Galway are set to benefit from 61 thousand euro in funding.

The new investment is designed to support the running of the services along with purchasing equipment and upgrading premises.

The largest allocation has gone to Involve Youth Service Ballinasloe, who have been awarded 15 thousand euro.

Connemara based Forum Adolescent Support Programme received 10 thousand euro, while Involve Youth Service Loughrea and Westside Youth Project have both been awarded 8 thousand euro.

The remaining 20 thousand euro in funding will be split evenly between The CAPE Project, East Galway Youth Service, Western Traveller and No.4 Youth Service.
