Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway city council is to meet with the TII, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, in the New Year to discuss making the Ballindooley Cross junction with the N84 safer.
The accident prone area is prioritised in the council's three year capital programme 2018 to 2020.
However, official Uinsinn Finn says the improvement works would cost up to 300 thousand euro and the council only has 40 thousand euro to spend at the moment.
The next step is to get a preliminary design done in consultation with TII and then to secure the necessary funding.
