Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Galway Volunteer Centre is to receive 133 thousand euro in national funding.
The service, based on William street in the city, allows people to access information on volunteer roles, and directly connects with organisations with vacancies.
The allocation is part of a 3.5 million euro fund for volunteering services across 21 counties.
The national investment will also allocate over 350 thousand euro to Volunteer Ireland who help connect centres such as Galway to those around the country in a national database.
The funding was announced by Minister for Community Development and Fine Gael TD for Galway West, Sean Kyne, who says that centres like this are of key importance to the community.
