Strong turnout for 30th annual Galway Pride Parade in City

Galway Bay fm newsroom - There was a huge turnout for the annual Galway Pride Parade in the city this afternoon.

Hundreds of people turned out for the culmination of the week long Galway Pride Festival - with the iconic parade setting off from College Road around lunchtime.

The colorful troop made it's way through the city, down Shop Street, towards Father Griffin Park - where a family fun day took place.

Galway Pride is the longest running consecutive Pride festival in Ireland.

Over the past 30 years, it has grown from small event featuring just a handful of people to one of the biggest events on the city's social calender.
