The first two seats have been filled by returning Fine Gael Councillors in the Loughrea area this afternoon.
Michael 'Moegie' Maher and Jimmy McClearn have both been re-elected to Galway County council in the first Loughrea area count at Galway Lawn Tennis Club.
Both men credited the fantastic support of their families in helping them lead a successful campaign.
