Strong attendance at Galway's walk-in vaccination centres over bank holiday weekend

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Over 800 people attended walk-in vaccination centres in Clifden and Galway Racecourse over the bank holiday weekend.

A walk-in center opened at Clifden Community School on Saturday morning and over 130 first-dose vaccinations were given.

A walk-in vaccination clinic also opened at Galway Racecourse yesterday and over 700 attendances were recorded.

Nationally, over 30 thousand people received a vaccine at walk-in facilities across the country over the weekend.

The HSE says the number of attendances outstripped their expectations and they may extend the operation of the centres.
