Storm Hannah triggers status orange wind warning for Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Galway public is being urged to exercise caution as Met Eireann issues an orange wind warning as Storm Hannah approaches over the Atlantic later today.

Met Éireann is warning of gusts of up to 130 kilometres an hour in Galway from 7pm until midnight tonight.

Two other orange warnings also come into effect this evening - Cork, Kerry, Clare and Limerick from 4 and Tipperary and Waterford from 10 tonight.

A yellow alert has also been issued from 11pm for counties in the west, north-west and south east.

Met Eireann's John Eagleton says some of the orange warnings could be upgraded to red as the day progresses - stay tuned to Galway Bay fm news...
