Galway Bay fm news - Council crews have swept the city centre area and are now concentrating on the Salthill area with road sweepers.

Two council crews are going around to businesses collecting any flood damage furniture or waste.

The public can contact the Environment Department of the city council at direct lines 091 53 64 40 and 53 65 03.

Power has been restored to the pumping station at Gort

The ESB were on site until last night to restore power and the water treatment plant came back into full production at 2am.

The water levels in the reservoir have been restored overnight.

The M6 motorway has been closed between Junction 16 Loughrea and junction 15 Ballinasloe West following a crash.

A truck left the road on the westbound lane on the Loughrea side of the toll shortly before 9am.

Gardai say the incident happened due to the high winds still battering the county today.

The motorway will remain closed to traffic between Kiltullagh and Ballinasloe for about an hour while the truck is towed from the scene.

 

Bus Eireann has made some changes to its routes in the city this morning.

Route 401 is diverted via Devon Park to Taylors Hill, Kingston & Threadneedle Rd to Dr Mannix Rd and unable to serve Salthill Village & Dalysfort Rd.

Route 424 has been diverted via Devon Park to Dr Mannix Rd, Threadneedle rd & Kingston Cross outbound.

All Irish Rail routes are operating, following flooding on the Limerick to Ennis line and at Waterford station last night.

 

More than 200 customers are without power in Ballinasloe, Maam, Recess, Headford and Portumna.

Power is due to be restored to the Recess and Portumna area by about 11.30 this morning and by 4 this afternoon in Headford.

However, there is no estimated restoration time for electricity in Clifden or Maam yet.

 

Met Éireann is warning that dangerous conditions and more coastal flooding is likely in the wake of Storm Eleanor as a Status Orange wind warning remains in place until 2 this afternoon.
