Galway Bay fm newsroom - There's been a step forward for plans to build a social housing development in Clifden.

The homes are to be built at Hospital Road and would be a mix of one, two and three bed dwellings of various heights.
Funding of €5m was announced for the development - which comprises 26 homes - last year.

The County Council has now published a Part 8 Planning notice signalling its intent to move forward with the project.
Plans for the proposed development can be viewed at County Hall in the city, or at the Clifden Area Office from this Friday until Friday, September 6th.
Fine Gael Councillor Eileen Mannion says it's very positive news for Clifden.
