Status yellow wind warning now in place for Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A status yellow wind warning is now in effect for Galway.

Wind warnings will be in place for nearly a third of the country today - with gusts of up to 90 kilometres an hour expected.

The status yellow alert is now in place in seven counties along the west coast - from Kerry to Donegal.

It'll remain in place until 3 this afternoon.

And a similar alert takes effect in Cork at 9 o'clock this morning.
