A status yellow rain warning will come into effect for Galway from midday today.
The alert will be in place until 1PM tomorrow, with localised flooding and difficult driving conditions expected.
Meanwhile a status Orange rainfall warning is already in effect for three counties in the south.
While Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, Kilkenny and Wexford are under a yellow alert
