Galway Bay fm newsroom - A specialist ship is en route to Galway this evening, where it will be stocked with equipment before joining the search for the missing Rescue 116 crew on Sunday.
Rescue crews searching for the helicopter missing off the Mayo coast say they've spotted a weather window on Sunday in which they may be able to dive at the suspected crash site.
Air and shoreline searches are continuing today, and the specialist ship - The Granuaile - is being stocked with extra equipment before heading to Blacksod Bay for Sunday's search.
The Granuaile is expected to dock in Galway at around 7 this evening
Mayo photo journalist Fergus Sweeney says the families of Rescue 116 are holding vigil - supported by the local community.
Meanwhile, the funeral of Irish Coast Guard Captain, Dara Fitzpatrick, will take place this weekend.
Dara, who died in the Rescue 116 crash is currently reposing until 10 tonight
Her requiem mass will take place at St Patrick's Church, Glencullen, at 11am tomorrow
