Galway Bay fm newsroom - Several communities in south Galway located near Derrybrien windfarm are to benefit from the Wind Farm Fund
The 65 thousand euro allocation comes from the ESB's Wind Farm Community Fund which provides grants to community or voluntary groups for projects located near its wind farms.
30 thousand euro is sanctioned to Ballinakill Community Development towards the renovation of the community hall.
10 thousand 500 euro goes to the 30th Galway Abbey Duniry Scout Group towards improvement works on the Waldorf Hall in Woodford.
Just over 9 thousand euro has been granted to Galway Rural Development Company Ltd. towards the development of a capacity building programme for the Derrybrien area.
8 thousand euro is allocated to Tommy Larkin GAA Club towards the provision of lighting for to the walking and running tracks.
Almost 4 and a half thousand euro goes to Horse Connect towards a new outdoor stable and tack room unit.
4 thousand euro in funding goes to Leitrim National School towards a new defibrillator and the construction of an outdoor classroom.
