It’s understood the two metre rule will reduce to one under these conditions, after the the Health Protection Surveillance Centre issued draft guidelines.

Customers will also have to spend at least nine euro on a substantial meal.

The recent trend of a low number of cases is continuing - with just three deaths and 14 new cases confirmed in the Republic yesterday.

No new cases were confirmed in Galway last evening with the county total remaining at 486.
