Galway Bay fm newsroom - Sinn Féin has cancelled public rallies planned for Galway and Cavan this week after the first diagnosed case of the Coronavirus in the Republic.
The person diagnosed attended the same school as the children of Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald.
It's led to her postponing rallies planned for Galway and Cavan so she can be closer to home with the children's school shut for two weeks.
Party leader Mary Lou McDonald and senior members Pearse Doherty and Eoin Ó Broin had planned to join local Sinn Fein representatives at the Galway Bay Hotel in Salthill on Friday.
The Sinn Féin leader has said it's a worrying time and everyone should heed the advice of health officials....
