Shared e-scooter firm says Galway city rollout would involve fleet of up to 400

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A shared e-scooter firm says a city the size of Galway could be catered for with a fleet of up to 400.

Superpedestrian, which specialises in transportation robotics and human-scale mobility, will hold a demonstration in the city next week to discuss the safe integration of shared e-scooters in Galway city and across Ireland.

It's the third third in a series of e-scooter demonstration events across the country.

The event takes place at Galway United Football Club, Eamonn Deacy Park next Wednesday.

It comes as the government yesterday approved a bill that will allow them to be used on public roads.

They're not legal at the moment under road traffic laws - but when they are, tax, insurance and driving licences won't be needed.
