Galway Bay fm newsroom - A number of events to mark Easter commemorations will take place in the city and county over the next few days.
Fianna Fáil, Sinn Féin and Republican Sinn Féin have all organised events to mark the 101st anniversary of The Rising.
Republican Sinn Féin will hold a wreath-laying ceremony this evening at 5 o' clock where the Tuam Martyrs were executed at Tuam Workhouse.
A similar event will take place organised by RSF at 7pm tomorrow, Holy Saturday at the grave of Séamus Ó Máille in Kilcummin cemetery in Oughterard.
On Easter Sunday, Republican Sinn Féin has organised a march from Galway Cathedral to the Liam Mellows monument in Eyre Square, starting at 11a.m.
The main county commemoration for Republican Sinn Féin takes place at the Republican plot in Donaghpatrick cemetery, Caherlistrane at 3pm on Easter Sunday.
Sinn Féin will hold an event at the Liam Mellows monument in Eyre Square, tomorrow, Holy Saturday at 3p.m with guest speaker, Liadh Ní Riada.
A commemoration will also take place at the new cemetery in Athenry at noon on Easter Sunday.
At 1p.m on Easter Sunday, Sinn Féin will hold another talk at Teach an Phiarsaigh, Rosmuc.
The main East Galway commemoration will be held in Creagh cemetery on Easter Sunday at 2p.m, where the main speaker will be Sinn Féin MLA, Caoimhe Archibald.
Sinn Feín will host an event at the Thomas Whelan statue in Clifden on Easter Monday at 3p.m followed by another commemorative event at Tullycross cemetery at 5p.m on Easter Monday.
Fianna Fáil will hold its Easter parade on Easter Sunday after 12 noon mass at St. Patrick's Church, Forster Street in the city.
The procession will travel from the church up to the Liam Mellows monument in Eyre Square.
A flag-raising ceremony will take place at the Commemoration Garden in Athenry on Easter Monday, with events planned from 11.30a.m to 5.30p.m.
