Section of Prom road in Salthill closed after pedestrian is knocked down

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A section of the Prom road in Salthill remains closed after a pedestrian was knocked down in the late afternoon

The pedestrian has been taken to hospital with what are understood to be non life-threatening injuries

The section of the road from O Connor's Pub to the Seapoint roundabout is closed

It will re-open when the Garda Forensic team examines the roadway
