Second weather warning to come into effect for Galway this morning

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A second weather warning is due to come into effect for Galway this morning.

It's as a status yellow rainfall warning is already in place since midnight.

A status yellow rainfall warning for Galway came into effect in the early hours of this morning, and will remain in place until 6am tomorrow.

During that time, rainfall of 30 to 60mm is forecast, with flooding and disruption to be expected.

A second weather warning is due to come into effect at 10am - this time for wind.

Met Eireann is warning that strong southwest winds are to be expected across Galway, with mean speeds of 55 to 65 km/h, as well as gusts of up to 100km/h.

The status yellow wind warning will remain in place until 4 o' clock this afternoon.
