Search for missing city man stood down as body found

Galway Bay FM Newsroom – The search for missing city man John Joyce has been stood down following the recovery of a body from the River Corrib.

Gardaí have confirmed that the search for 70 year old Mr Joyce, who was well known from his time working in the NUI Galway library, has concluded.

He was last seen in the Rahoon area on Monday May 31st.

Gardaí say they are treating John Joyce's death as a personal tragedy.
