Sean Canney urges Government to accept amendments to counter-motion to proposed eviction ban extension

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway East TD Sean Canney is urging the Government to accept amendments to their counter motion to a proposed extension of the eviction ban.

Cabinet will sign-off this morning on its reponse to a Sinn Féin motion for the extension of the evictions ban until January 2024.

The Regional Independent Group, of which he's one of the seven members, has published eight key demands, including a tax relief scheme for small landlords, and the extension of the rent-a-room scheme to those receiving social welfare payments.

He says support from their Group is dependent on the Government accepting those amendments:
