Galway Bay fm newsroom - Roscommon/Galway TD Denis Naughten is calling on the Taoiseach to consider relaxing restrictions on returning to work in parts of the country which have seen consistently low numbers of Covid-19 infection.
The Independent TD has proposed that parts of the country with low rates of infection could be used as a testing ground for the easing of measures so there is a clearer picture when cities begin to return to normal.
Carlow and Leitrim have the lowest number of cases reported, while Dublin and Kildare have the highest.
Deputy Naughten has suggested that there should be a further measured relaxation of restrictions on movements in areas with low rates but only where people returning to work, or those meeting others outside of their families, cover their mouths and noses from this point on..
