Road improvement works are due to take place in the next 4-6 weeks between Briarhill Junction to the start of the motorway at the Coolagh Roundabout.
Fine Gael City East Councillor Shane Forde has gotten confirmation, and he says it's well-needed as road conditions on the busy route have been deplorable for months.
He says there are numerous potholes in the surface, which is a risk for both drivers and cyclists.
Councillor Forde will be pushing for works to place in the evening, to avoid impacting on peak-time traffic:
