Galway Bay fm newsroom - Revenue have seized 12 thousand euro in cash and almost 1000 litres of alcohol in the city.
Last evening, Revenue officers were granted a three month cash detention order at Clifden District Court.
During the course of the operation in the city, Revenue officers seized 809 litres of alcohol for which no proof of duty could be provided.
It's after almost €12 thousand in cash was also seized during the seach of a house in the city under warrant.
At Clifden District Court last evening, Judge John King granted Revenue a three month cash detention order.
A woman in her 30's and a man in his 60's were questioned following the seizures and investigations are ongoing.
Revenue says the operation, conducted with the assistance of Gardai, is part of ongoing work targeting smuggling and the shdow economy.
