Galway Bay fm newsroom - A new residential service has opened in South Galway for children and young people with complex needs.
The service is operated by Irish-owned health and social care provider Resilience, with support from the HSE.
The residence, known as ‘Claddagh House', is based at Ballylee and aims to offer a child centred, homely and stress-reducing environment.
With its headquarters in Ennis, Resilience provides services countrywide, with 550 employees supporting over 300 children and adults with disabilities.
Breda Crehan Roche, Chief Officer, Community Healthcare West says the new residential service will have a positive impact elsewhere on respite availability in Galway, as a number of children who have been in respite will now reside at Claddagh House.
