Galway bay fm newsroom - A combined total of €1.6 million is being awarded to three NUI Galway research projects.
Higher Education Minister Simon Harris has announced the awardees under the new capital programme for the Further Education and Training sector.
Eavan O Dochartaigh, Jane Conway and Alison Connolly will all receive around €550,000 each for their research projects.
Eavan is exploring Artic Archives, Jane's research is delving into mental health disorders, while Alison is looking into the effects of Neo-nico-tinoid insecticides on gardeners.
The investment aims to support Ireland's emerging research talent, and funding will be provided through SOLAS.
