Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are renewed calls for a feasibility study to be carried out for the roll-out of light-rail transport in Galway city.
Galway West TD Catherine Connolly has written to the Transport Minister this week to commit to producing such a report.
It's in support of light-rail advocacy group, Gluas, which is campaigning for the installation of a Luas-style rail system in the city.
In spring 2018, Deputy Connolly collected over 24,000 signatures in support of a sustainable transport solution for Galway city.
She argues that the city is being treated unfairly by not getting a feasibility study - despite the fact that Galway's population is set to grow significantly by 2040.
