Ukrainian refugees in Galway doubles in less than three months

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The number of Ukrainian refugees in Galway has more than doubled in the past three months.

There are now over 3,000 across the city and county, which is an increase of 1,621 since the end of May.

According to CSO figures, there are now twice as many Ukrainian refugees in Galway compared to May 22nd when there were just 1,585.

As of the 9th August, there are 3,206 here, and almost half have city-based PPS numbers.

Around seven percent of all Ukrainian refugees that have arrived in Ireland are in Galway.
