Reduction in volume of farmed salmon production off Connemara coast

Galway Bay fm newsroom- There has been a significant reduction in the volume and value of farmed salmon produced on the Connemara coast.

Statistics from Bord Iascaigh Mhara indicate a poor year last year for the salmon farming industry both locally and nationally.

Almost two and a half thousand tons of farmed salmon was produced in Connemara in 2018 but that was significantly down on the previous year.
