Galway Bay fm newsroom - The public is being urged to participate in a consultation on the extension of the western rail corridor.
Iarnród Éireann is encouraging the public and interested organisations to take part in the consultation as part of a financial and economic appraisal.
EY-DKM Economic Advisory has been hired to undertake the appraisal and public and stakeholder consultation.
The aim of the appraisal is to determine if the proposed extension of the rail line from Athenry to Tuam and from Tuam to Claremorris represents value for money.
The online survey has now become live and will remain open for 6 weeks until July 17th.
The outcome of the appraisal will be presented to the Department of Transport by the end of September.
