Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway East TD is urging the people of Athenry to make submissions on a new town centre regeneration plan.
Deputy Ciaran Cannon says the plan is due to the published this week by the county council.
Ultimately, it aims to improve the urban environment, link the town centre to key tourist sites, improve road safety, and improve pedestrian access to the town centre.
Deputy Cannon says the first project is the development of a public realm enhancement scheme - focused on Market Square, Burke's Lane and Davis Street.
He says consultants have now arrived at six different possibilities, and details will shortly be delivered to every home and business in the town.
Deputy Cannon argues it's vital that everyone has their say on the future of the town before the consultation ends on May 31st.
