Public meeting to discuss concerns over planned telecommunications mast in Monivea

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A public meeting will be held in Monivea this evening to discuss plans for a telecommunications mast in the village.

The proposal involves the construction of a 30-metre high multi-user lattice telecommunications structure, carrying antenna and dishes.

It would be located at Glennagloghaun North and a decision is due by county planners next month.

Some locals have cited concerns over the proposed site, such as flooding, proximity to the local school and the impact the mast could have on the visual amienity of the area.

The meeting will take place from 8 this evening at Fr. Sammon Hall in Monivea.
