Galway Bay fm newsroom - A major public meeting on flood mitigation plans for the South Galway region will take place in Gort tomorrow (27/3).
The event is being hosted by the South Galway Flood Relief Committee.
A delegation from South Galway travelled to Europe last month to seek assistance on flood relief solutions for the Gort lowlands and surrounding areas.
They’ve sought advice from EU policy makers and enforcement agencies to provide a satisfactory overall solution.
An progress update will be provided to members of the public at Monday's meeting, which takes place in Sullivan's Hotel in Gort at 8 tomorrow evening.
Committee member Eugene Nolan says the region is geographically unique.
