Public meeting on cattle farming to be held in Loughrea tomorrow

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A special meeting to deal with matters that concern cattle farmers will be held in Loughrea tomorrow evening.

All farmers and local politicians are being asked to attend the event:

A petition will be available to sign during the meeting, which calls for a new REPS scheme and for a 300 hundred euro suckler cow payment scheme.

Other matters to be discussed on the night include; the propose twice yearly TB test, the four movement rule, the 30 months rule and the Common Agricultural Policy.

The meeting will be chaired by the Donie Shine of the Irish Family-Farm Rights Group.

The event will take place tomorrow evening in the Loughrea Hotel at 8 o'clock.
