Galway Bay fm newsroom - A public meeting and demonstration aimed at putting an end to direct provision will take place next week in the city.
The events are being organised by the Galway Anti-Racism Network, which claims the system is demoralising and barbaric.
A public meeting will take place at 7pm on Monday at the Harbour Hotel, which will be addressed by speakers from the Movement of Asylum Seekers.
The gathering will be followed by a demonstration on Saturday week, which will see participants march from the Eglinton direct provision centre in Salthill to the Great Western centre in the city from 1pm.
