Galway Bay fm newsroom - A public consultation is underway on the future of Catholic second-level education in Tuam.
The town's three main post-primary schools are collaborating to explore the current status and future of Catholic education in the town.
The consultation process is seeking to gather the perspectives of boards of management, staff, students and parents from St. Jarlath’s College, Presentation College and Scoil Bhríde.
Organisers say they aim to capture the concerns, hopes and anxieties of all which will inform a unified vision for Catholic post-primary education in the area.
School patrons - The Catholic Education and Irish Schools Trust or CEIST and the Archbishop of Tuam Michael Neary - are coordinating the effort, while Frank Smith will act as independent facilitator.
