Public consultation to examine local opinion on pedestrianisation in Athenry

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A survey is being circulated to gather feedback from the local community in Athenry on a proposal for pedestrianisation.

The survey is led by Athenry Community Council and asks locals to consider the pedestrianisation of streets surrounding the market square.

It also looks at implementing a one-way system on Old Church Street.

The community council suggests implementing a pedestrian-only area would facilitate accessibility, walking, browsing, socialising and decongestion in the town.
