Galway Bay fm newsroom - A new permanent civic arts space is to be established at Eglinton Street as part of a multi-million euro redevelopment of the Galway Post Office.
The project will see a block spanning from Eglinton Street to William Street opened up for development, incorporating a new post office and civic arts centre.
The location was used as a temporary creative space during the 2019 Galway International Arts Festival.
Junior Minister and Galway West TD Hildegarde Naughten says the project will regenerate a very prominent part of Galway City and provide a "world-class" arts space for the community.
She also adds that a modernised post office is also an extremely positive development at a time when services like community banking are of increasing importance.
